Before the holiday season and at the busiest time of the year, airlines usually update their flights regularly to accommodate passengers and ensure a smooth trip. People may not be aware of the latest updates, so to avoid a last-minute cancellation or rejected visa, it is advised to double-check everything before proceeding.

Over the holidays, many couples and families travel, and many contemplate a trip to Dubai, UAE, to escape the icy and chilly weather in London. Also, some British expats visit their families overseas with Emirates Airlines.

Indian Citizens Without a Full Name Can’t Fly to Dubai
Air India Express has recently announced that Indian citizens without a clear full name on their passport won’t board the plane to Dubai. A recent report from Khaleeji Times claimed that several Indian citizens with only their first name on the passport won’t be able to get a visa and can’t board any flights to Dubai and will be classified as INAD – inadmissible passengers.
This regulation will be applicable to those traveling on a tourist or visit visa but will exclude residence or employment visas as per the circular. Although some suggest adding the father’s or husband’s name to the passport, no official statement has been made. Therefore, Indian citizens without a surname on their passports are advised to wait a bit before making any changes to their passports.
